【摘要】:Theassemblyforceofaconduitjoiningsystemisonemeasureoftheeaseofwhichtheconduitsystemcanbeassembledandinstalledinthefield.Thistestmethodprovidesameansbywhichtoquantifytheassemblyforceofgasketedconduitjoiningsystems.Theresultsofthetestingcanbeusedtocompareandcategorizetheassemblyforceofdifferentdesignsofgasketedconduitjoiningsystems.Thistestmethodisnotintendedforuseasaqualitycontroltest.Thistestmethodcanbeusedforcomparisonofgasketedconduitjoiningsystemsonthebasisofassemblyforce.Noinformationaboutjointsealingperformancecanbeobtainedfromtheuseofthistestmethod.Thistestmethodcoversallplasticconduitwithpush-onjointsthatuseflexibleelastomericgasketslocatedinthebelltoprovidethejointseal.Thistestmethodisalsoapplicabletoallfittingsthatarefabricatedfromconduitcoveredin5.4andthatutilizethesametypeofpush-onjointsastheconduitcoveredin5.4,andthatareintendedforusewiththeconduittypesdescribedin5.4.Forpurposesofthistestmethod,assemblyforcedataobtainedfromthetestingoftheconduitthatistheparentstockofafittingshallapplytothefittingalso.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftherelativeforcerequiredtoassembleplasticundergroundconduitjointsthatuseflexibleelastomericsealslocatedinthebell.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesstatedinparenthesesareprovidedforinformationpurposesonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
