MIL-HDBK-1197, MILITARY HANDBOOK AERO-ACOUSTICS TEST PROGRAMS (11 MAR 1988). This handbook provides basic design guidance on aircraft engine runup sound suppressors. It is intended for use by experienced architects and engineers and contains a review of model-scale and full-scale sound suppressed aircraft runup enclosure tests. The review provided the present checkout test data handbook. Although it covers both model-scale and full-scale test data, it focuses on full-scale data with model-scale results included for comparison. The test data are presented in such a way as to make them readily applicable in a design situation.
